Wow how do you like that....Tuesday I was pulling a pipe from the back of a truck when my legs suddenly buckled and I hit the ground. I laid there for a moment in complete agony and then stood back up. Pain shot from my lower back to my brain like a lightening bolt. I could feel my adrenalin begin to course through my veins. I decided with some coaxing to go to the med center and have them take a look see and tell me what's up. The doc did some x-rays and told me that if he didn't know better that I had the spine of a 20 something year old. Not bad for a guy who is almost 39 ^__^ . Anyway he decided that I needed an MRI also. Rain took me in for the MRI that afternoon. Next day we went back to the doc to get a better idea of the situation. I guess that I am sort of a mutant in a way,I guess that the damage he could see was already healing itself. His prognosis finally was that I really did fuck up my back. I was calm and asked what did he find? He showed me damage in like 3 areas, a bulging disc and torn disc, and a good ole' herniated disc. He then told me that it was crazy because technically speaking and looking at the MRI pics, I shouldn't be able to walk right now and I am. Rain is the most incredible and wonderful woman a man could have she is taking care of me like a king and making me understand that I can be injured and I don't have to play macho and ignore the seriousness of the damage. I have my appointment with the neurosurgeon on august 20th. Man I can't believe that I may have to have back surgery, I'm a bit nervous. I am out of work until this is all over also..thank God this happened at work..workman's comp. should take care of me and mine for a while.
Anyway that's what I have been up to for the last week. Bedridden and treated like a king...guess there is one consolation prize in this I get to play my PS3 all I want now and I can catch up on all the tv I have missed out on.....oh but the drugs are good so I suppose that makes up for the ability to be active....uh yeah not so much.
